Good-byee!

So - I have a new blog. And, just to be crazy, I've changed the name too (unless I get a hue & cry from you all, in which case I can change it back). And hopefully there's room for hundreds of photos! Please, PLEASE check it out. Here's a link:

It will be more of the same, I promise!
Thanks!

Last FHE with the Hicks

Even though this was the last FHE with the Hicks (before they hopped over to Ireland) I didn't get any pictures with them! Also, this past Monday was our first FHE with the Whitneys. And I forgot to take pictures! How silly is that!

Josephine gave the lesson, and it was excellent. We had a wonderful time.

(Sorry for the lack of pictures. I'm trying to sort that out!)

You don't know you're beautiful: Roadshows!

So, once again, we had the roadshows. Patsy was in charge again! The theme this year was 'modern parables'. Patsy took the parable of the 10 virgins, and changed it to ten girls going to a "One Direction" concert. Five of them have backstage passes, five of them don't! It was hilarious & so jolly.

I was just an extra, but I still had to wear make-up & jeans! This is me with 'slap' on, as Patsy calls it.

Genuine bobble-heads! Hahahaha!

The Glasgow boys (and Springboig & Cumbernauld) as One Direction!

Valerie McLaughlin as "The Older Fan"

Rachel (who was brilliant!) as "The Cryer"

November & Bonfire Night!

Things can be so dull in November - the Halloween fervour (in my case, anyway) and decorations are gone, and everything can seem quite grey & sad. So, I decided to make a little display of Novemberish things in my room.

Bonfire night, the 5th of December, Guy Fawkes night, happened to fall on a Monday. So, as Rachel & I both agreed that the fireworks at the Glasgow Green were NOT that exciting, we were delighted to have our own celebration with your little FHE crowd.

Josephine made the food, and the Guy Fawkes effigy. Rachel & I brought sparklers. We met Spring, Lars' lovely wife. It was really a magical evening!

Yummy food! Stuffed peppers, sausages, Cock-a-Leekie soup and more!

This is fuzzy, but I love this picture of Mercy!

And...Halloween Itself!!!

It was a relief and a delight to have an easy-going non-party Halloween. I had my one class, and I met up with my friend Stacey, who gave me a Halloween gift. And even though I was working on an assignment most the day, I still felt sufficiently festive and jolly.

In the early evening, Rachel & I carved pumpkins, and then we walked into town, to meet up with Kirsty. We drove with her to Shona's house (they both came to my birthday party). We ate pizza, watched "Hocus Pocus" had a delicious pudding make by Kirsty: a fabulous ginger cake with either cream or custard, and played "Stop the Bus" (my new favourite game!). It was a really fabulous evening. Good company, and nice and relaxing!

Mutual Halloween Activity

And it's not over yet! The young men & young women had a Halloween activity too! Bobbing - I mean dookin' for apples, doughnuts on a string, costume awards etc. Very jolly!

Cameron McLaughlin as a chick magnet! Haha! Brilliant!

Top Cat, Medusa and a Devil/Demon!

FHE Halloween dinner

See, I told you I was crazy busy this Halloween!

We had a great time, put up extra decorations, and enjoyed excellent food. I made my 'lambswool' drink. This is normally a Christmas thing, but as the Hicks and Josephine will be gone by then, I made it early so they could have some!

Jolly Halloween signs. The top one is from Heather.

These masks are from Heather as well.

Our yummy Halloween food!

The ghost mask was my favourite!

Rachel looking serious behind the ghost.

Josephine brought fake moustaches for the gents. This is Lars. He came ahead of his wife, and he's come to a few FHE dinners. He's a very jolly fellow. We just met his wife Spring yesterday and she is a super lovely person.

Patsy's Halloween Party!

Patsy starts planning this some time in September. And I certainly look forward to it for at least as long! It did not disappoint. Jolly games, wonderful costumes & scrumptious food abounded!

Pictures of the empty houses on the way to the church.

Chocolate skulls & vampire teeth!

Haunted House cake.

Chocolate Moustaches!

A Day of the Dead white chocolate skull!

Eyeballs! (cake balls)

Phillipa as Efi Trinket (from "The Hunger Games")
and Miranda as a peacock!

The lovely peacock!
Rachel had to work, sadly, but I was able to take a plate of goodies back for us both! Hurray!

Before eating them, we tried on our chocolate moustaches!

FHE Dance

I think I've had more Halloween activities this year than ever before. On the Friday before Halloween there was a dance - for which Josephine & I baked & decorated sugar-cookies. I also went in early (with the Hicks, Josephine, and Trisha Telfer, another YSA girl) to decorate the hall (using Patsy's amazing Halloween decoration collection).

The dance itself was OK. I'm not generally a big fan of dances, I'm afraid to admit!

The sugar cookies Josephine & I decorated.

Rachel & I both dressed as pirates for the dance.

We weren't the only pirates there!

The hanging ghosts I'd helped with earlier.
