We were studying the skeletal remains of Roman bodies from a cemetery in the nearby village of Dunstable. If I remember correctly, they were from the 1st or 2nd century A.D.
The first skeleton we studied (and handled!) a 25 to 30 year old woman. |
Her head and torso. |
Pelvis, sacrum & toe-bones. Apologies for the bit of spine below the sacrum! |
Skull of a man. |
The front of the man's skull. Notice the brow-ridges? |
The top of the femur - unfused. This is on an adolescent skeleton. |
More un-fused bones. |
Toe bones. |
Ooooooo! I love it! These are so exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteI just know you were in seventh heaven!! The bones are wonderful! I'm so glad you got to go!!
