I decided I'd embroider a handkerchief for her, like my Aunt Dianne does for all the wee girls in the family, that someday she can take to the temple with her. I found an antique one, already beautifully embroidered in one corner, so I used the other corners.
My work did not turn out as nicely as I hoped. Patsy told me the Emily in Miranda's middle name is after Emily Bronte. |
The original embroidery. Much nicer than mine! |
My flower's not half bad. |
The date of the baptism. |
The baptism itself was very nice. Vin, Patsy's oldest friend, was the other speaker. There was a musical number by Lydia (Patsy's oldest daughter) and then the baptism. Afterwards, we went to Patsy's for cake, and good company. It was a lovely day!
Miranda's cake. The top layer is the sea, with a boat on top. The bottom layers are all the fish and octopodes (we learned that the plural of octopus is not octopi after all!) |
A close-up! |
Miranda & her cake. |
What a great story! That's awesome that you spoke at her baptism (and on Tillie's birthday, no less)! That cake is amazing!!!
