Stirling Castle

Last year I went to Stirling Castle with mother. But they had a large portion of the castle closed off for renovation work. Recently it was re-opened, with magnificent royal chambers, restored to the splendour of earlier times - James V of Scotland (Mary, Queen of Scots' father). I was really looking forward to seeing this.

It was a fiercely windy day, and the place was quite crowded, but Katie and I had a good time.

Wind-blown Katie!

The new refurbished chambers!

This is how it looked in the time of James V. They had skilled craftsmen reproduce these heads and then they were painted and mounted on the ceiling!
