Sma' Shots, part two

These are photos from the newer cottage, which was across a back courtyard from the earlier cottage.

The bell used in the 1800's for the workers.

There were other of these staircases, but this is the only one that remains. 


I love these old Scottish hot water bottles!


This trunk, apparently, is a 19th century version of a slow cooker!


These apparently were hung above people's bed - those who had come down from the highlands especially, I think. Should they die in the night and they didn't have any family, these would ensure them a proper burial.

A nursing chair, very low to the ground.

  2. Mangler!!!!!!!!!! I love that thing that they hung over their bed. So interesting!! Plus, surprisingly, it looks a lot like Mother's hand writing!
