This stone circle is not as early as Temple Wood Northern. Some of the stones have been removed, but of those still standing, some are carved. Also after the circle was constructed, cairns were built along the edge of the circle, and even later still, within the circle, and a large burial cist in the middle (all during the Bronze Age).
